EU withdrawal period calculator
Counted from the day after the event; the period ends at the end of the 14th day, or of the next working day when that day is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday (Art. 3(4) Regulation 1182/71; Art. 9(2) Directive 2011/83/EU).
What counts as in time
What matters is that the consumer sends the withdrawal before the period ends, not when the seller receives it (Art. 11(2) Directive 2011/83/EU). A declaration sent at 23:50 on the last day is in time.
What the calculator cannot know
- Several deliveries from one order: for goods delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item (Art. 9(2)(b)(i) Directive 2011/83/EU). Enter that date.
- Missing withdrawal information: if the consumer was not told about the right of withdrawal, the period ends 12 months after the end of the initial 14 days (Art. 10 Directive 2011/83/EU).
- Public holidays outside Germany, Austria and France are not written out; there only weekends move the end.
- Exceptions to the right of withdrawal (for example goods made to the consumer's specifications, or a service fully performed) are not checked.
