For agencies: the withdrawal button on your clients' Wix sites

For agencies and freelancers who look after Wix shops and sites for sellers. As of 24 September 2026.

Why this concerns your clients

Since 19 June 2026, Art. 11a of the EU Consumer Rights Directive requires online sellers to offer a withdrawal function (in Germany § 356a BGB). In Austria the withdrawal function under § 13a FAGG applies from 1 October 2026. Sellers in Germany who offer contracts with a term online, such as subscriptions, memberships or courses, also need the cancellation button under § 312k BGB. From 27 September 2026 the EU notice on the legal guarantee is added.

These duties fall on the seller, not the agency. They are built into the site you look after, though.

Setup per site, in four steps

Install Cooloff from the Wix App Market on your client's site.
In the site's dashboard, open Cooloff and its "Cooloff settings", and enter the seller's business name and email address. Both appear in every acknowledgement, and the copies of each declaration go to that address.
Choose the position: the floating button, or "Only my own link (no floating button)" for a link in the header or footer. For your own link, Cooloff shows the finished address to copy, and "Check my site" then looks for the link on the published homepage.
"Send me a test run": both emails go to the saved address, marked as a test. Nothing is stored.

The "Is it working?" section of the dashboard then shows whether the button is live on the published site, and warns when it is switched off.

Cost

The legal function is free for every site: the withdrawal button, the cancellation button, the acknowledgements and the list of declarations. There is no separate Cooloff account and no code to paste; the app runs inside Wix.

What Cooloff does not do

Cooloff does not decide whether a withdrawal or a cancellation is valid and does not give legal advice. The withdrawal instructions, terms and legal notice remain the seller's, and their legal-text provider's.
